Report: "Navigating the New Realities of the North Shore"The Stories
The stories (or “scenarios”) you are about to read are just that—stories. They present four possible futures that Northeast Ohio might find itself facing ten years from now. They are not predictions. They are not forecasts. They are also not the only possible futures we might face; but along with the other supporting material you will find here, these four simple stories should help frame the real issues confronting our region. They are designed to stimulate more creative thinking about (and planning for) the real future.
We encourage you to read these scenarios and think about how they make you feel about the future of the region. You may not agree with everything you read, but that’s OK - if these stories get you thinking about what you can do to prepare for whatever future may face us in 2015, then they have done their job. And if they prompt you to respond in some way, to get involved, so much the better.
We’ve provided a feedback mechanism at the end of each story (and in the navigation at the top of every page) for you to let us know what you think and how you feel about these possible futures. And we look forward to hearing from you.
Each of the four icons below will take you to one of the scenarios. You’ll notice the identical icons also appear in the upper right hand corner of each page on this site. Those icons will also take you to the stories as well.
So poke around, read, think, discuss with others—and then let us know how you plan on using this material to develop your own strategy for dealing the possible futures we face as a region.
