Ohio Venture Association Meeting to feature Dorothy Baunach
Friday, September 7th, 2007The next Ohio Venture Association Luncheon Meeting will feature guest speaker, Dorothy Baunach, President and Chief Executive Officer of NorTech. Dorothy will be speaking about the core competencies of Northeast Ohio - Bioscience, Information Technology, Electronics, Polymers & Advanced Materials, and Power & Propulsion
About Dorothy Baunach:
Dorothy C. Baunach serves as President and CEO of NorTech and is also a member of the senior management team of the Greater Cleveland Partnership. Dorothy was previously Deputy Director of Cleveland Tomorrow where she directed the start-up for NorTech as an affiliate program.
During her tenure at NorTech, the organization has focused much of their energy on identifying our region’s strengths and its core competencies. Dorothy’s presentation will take us through the results of that work and expand on the efforts currently in place to support activities within these core competencies.
Dorothy is a past president and long-time board member of the Cleveland Engineering Society, and is the current treasurer of the Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition. She is an Advisory Board member of the Ohio Innovation Fund.
Dorothy has been appointed by the governor to sit on the Industry, Technology and Enterprise Advisory Council and the Midwest Higher Educations Commission.
Ms. Baunach received the Cleveland Engineering Society Leadership Award in June 2006 for her efforts to advance technology in the region and support the mission of The Cleveland Engineering Society. In November 2006, Dorothy received one of Northern Ohio Live’s Rainmaker awards, given to influential businesswomen who have driven dollars into their companies/organizations.
