Seeing the Forest City Instead of the Trees

Just in case you missed it, the Motley Fool recently covered the business climate in Cleveland quite favorably; Scott Suttell at Crain’s has a nice summary along with a link to the original MF article.

(And as an aside for those who don’t already know it, Cleveland was nicknamed The Forest City long before allocating another 187 acres to parkland as it recently did).

Sometimes you’re the windsheld, sometimes you’re the bug. It’s been nice being the windshield for a change lately. Let’s keep it going!

For those readers in the US, have a great holiday tomorrow. We’ll be back Thursday if all goes well with the changes being made behind the scene to both this and the NorTech website.

Thanks for the background–what do you think the chances are we might be able to reclaim that heritage as we work towards making Cleveland the Green City By A Blue Lake?

Hey, Chris, “The Forest City” was more than just a nickname or a marketing slogan–for those of us who grew up there when the name had currency, it was an identity, used interchangeably with “Cleveland.” That’s back when we realized the value of trees and had a respect for them, back before the interests of the utility carriers took precedence over our need for tall, strong, functional trees.

At least we a far cry from when the river was on fire. Being a native I can’t wait to see the Green City By a Blue Lake? Keep it up.
