Yesterday’s New York Times reports on a sea-change occuring in Silcon Valley: both venture capitalists and entrepreneurs are increasingly shifting their focus towards energy related ventures.
“It is no secret,” according to the article, “that venture capitalists have begun pouring billions into energy-related start-ups with names like SunPower, Nanosolar and Lilliputian Systems.
But that interest is now spilling over to many others in Silicon Valley — lawyers, accountants, recruiters and publicists, all developing energy-oriented practices to cater to the cause.”
Read the article here. Then ask yourself, given both the energy related assets in the triangle formed by Cleveland, Pittsburgh and West Virginia and the wealth of lawyers, accountants and publicists we have here, shouldn’t we be working more aggressively on becoming the energy equivilent of Research Triangle Park?
