The Heat Is On

High temperatures across the country put yet another strain on the nation’s electric grid while high tensions in the middle east continue to worry the oil market–two unwelcome and unfortunate reminders about how fragile our energy supply really is.

What does this imply about the way in which our region should approach its energy future? David Beach has posted the notes from the Advanced Energy Strategy’s Goal-setting meeting held July 5th here at his site, GreenCityBlueLake. Though the meeting preceded both the recent high temperatures and escalating political tensions in the middle east, the team’s first pass at what our regional goals should be is worth taking a look at.

A follow-up meeting is coming soon. We will continue to use www.gcbl.org as the “home base” for the Advanced Energy Strategy work being led by Richard Stuebi.

Stay tuned…
